Find UTV, Side by Side & ATV Rocker Switches & More

Every light bar, winch, horn and stereo on your machine needs a switch you can trust. UTV rocker switches put clean, labeled, backlit control right on your dash, so you can flip on accessories without fumbling or guessing in the dark.

At Witchdoctors, we carry rocker and toggle switches for side-by-sides and ATVs: lighted and laser-etched aftermarket switches, waterproof switches, momentary winch switches and genuine OEM replacement switches. Add the switch panels, wiring and relays to finish the job, all in one place.

Why Upgrade or Replace Your UTV Switches?

  • Add accessories cleanly: wire light bars, pods, rock lights, horns, fans and radios to a dedicated switch.
  • Know what's on: backlit, laser-etched icons show each switch's job day or night.
  • Replace worn factory switches: restore AWD, turf mode, differential lock and other factory controls.
  • Stand up to the elements: sealed, waterproof switches handle mud, rain and pressure washing.
  • Match your dash: choose LED colors and styles that fit your machine's look.

Types of UTV and ATV Switches Compared

The right switch depends on what it controls and how it needs to operate. Use this chart to narrow it down.

Lighted and Laser-Etched Rocker Switches

The most popular aftermarket upgrade. A built-in LED lights up a laser-etched icon, so you can find the light bar or winch switch at a glance, even at night. Laser etching won't wear off like printed labels.

Waterproof Rocker Switches

UTVs get muddy, wet and pressure-washed. Sealed switches keep water and dust out of the contacts so they don't corrode or short. Look for an IP rating such as IP66 or IP68.

Momentary Winch Switches

A winch switch only works while you hold it, then springs back to off. That's a key safety feature: let go and the winch stops. Use a momentary switch for winch in/out and for horns.

OEM Replacement Switches

When a factory AWD, turf, diff lock or light switch fails, a genuine OEM switch snaps into the original dash opening and plugs into the factory harness with no splicing. It also matches your dash's texture and backlight color.

How to Choose the Right UTV Rocker Switch

  1. Amp rating: the switch must handle the accessory's current draw. For high-draw accessories, such as large light bars, heaters or big sound systems, run the load through a relay and let the switch trigger the relay.
  2. Voltage: most UTVs run 12V. Some switches, like Open Trail's, also work on 24V systems.
  3. On/off vs. momentary: latching for lights and accessories; momentary for winches and horns.
  4. Waterproof rating: IP66 or IP68 switches are best for mud, water and washing.
  5. Backlight color: match your dash or color-code switches by function.
  6. Fit: most aftermarket rockers fit the common standard opening of about 1.43" x 0.85". Check your dash or switch panel before ordering.
  7. Labels: choose a laser-etched icon that matches the accessory: light bar, winch, horn, fan and more.

How to Wire a UTV Rocker Switch

Every switch has its own wiring diagram, so always follow the instructions for your switch. The basic steps:

  1. Disconnect the battery before you start.
  2. Mount the switch in your dash or a switch panel.
  3. Run a fused power wire from the battery or a fuse block to the switch (or to a relay for high-draw accessories).
  4. Connect the switch output to the accessory, and connect the grounds, including the LED ground on lighted switches.
  5. Reconnect the battery and test the switch and backlight.

UTV Rocker Switch FAQs

What is the difference between a rocker switch and a toggle switch?

A rocker switch has a flat paddle that rocks up and down and usually mounts flush in a dash or switch panel. A toggle switch uses a small lever. Rocker switches are the most common choice for UTV dashes because they fit standard panels and can be backlit.

What is a momentary switch?

A momentary switch is only on while you hold it, then returns to off. Winches and horns use momentary switches so they stop as soon as you let go.

Do I need a relay with my rocker switch?

For high-draw accessories, yes. Wiring a large light bar, heater or sound system through a relay protects the switch and wiring. Check the switch amp rating against the accessory draw.

Will an aftermarket rocker switch fit my dash?

Most aftermarket rocker switches fit the common standard opening of about 1.43 by 0.85 inches. If your machine does not have open switch slots, add a switch panel or mount.

Are these switches waterproof?

Many are. The DragonFire Racing lighted switch is IP68 rated, and the 5150 Whips switch is a waterproof design. Check each product page for its rating.

Should I buy an OEM or aftermarket switch?

OEM switches plug into the factory harness and match your dash, which makes them best for replacing a failed factory switch. Aftermarket switches offer more icons, LED colors and lower prices for new accessories.

Can I use a 12V switch on a 24V system?

Only if the switch is rated for 24V. Open Trail lighted rocker switches are 12-24 volt compatible, and the DragonFire switch is rated for both 12V and 24V DC.
