How the RAM Ball-and-Socket System Works

Every RAM mount is built from three interchangeable parts: a base that attaches to your vehicle, a double socket arm, and a holder or accessory for your device. Each base and holder ends in a rubber ball, and the arm’s sockets clamp around those balls when you turn the center knob. The rubber gives the joint grip, lets you set almost any angle, and helps soak up shock and vibration.

Is this a complete mount?

No. An adapter connects a holder or device to a RAM arm and base, which are sold separately.

Is it waterproof?

RAM mounts are built for all-weather use and the hardware resists corrosion. Unless a holder is specifically rated waterproof, your device still needs its own protection from rain and dust.

Will it damage my handlebars or paint?

Rubber-padded contact points and correct hardware torque prevent damage. Do not over-tighten clamps on chrome or painted parts.

What warranty does RAM offer?

RAM Mounts backs its mounts and components with a limited lifetime warranty. Mounted devices are not covered.

Is the RAM® Double Ball Adapter compatible with my other RAM parts?
