EBC Yamaha UTV Brake Rotor MD6241D

Warped or worn rotors cause pulsing and weak brakes. The EBC Yamaha UTV Brake Rotor MD6241D is a precision EBC replacement.

Rotors are the surface the pads squeeze. They wear thinner with use, can warp from heat and get grooved by grit, which reduces braking and causes vibration.

About EBC Rotors

EBC makes standard replacement rotors, lightweight Pro-Lite designs and UTV-specific rotors. Pair new rotors with new pads for the best braking and bed them in together.

How to Bed In New Pads

New pads need a short break-in so they transfer an even layer of friction material to the rotor. Find a safe, open area and make 8 to 10 moderate stops from about 30 mph down to 5 mph without locking the wheels, then ride a few minutes without braking to let everything cool. Avoid hard stops for the first 100 miles. Proper bedding gives stronger, quieter, more consistent braking for the life of the pads.

Rotor Care

Keep rotors clean and free of oil or chain lube, which glazes pads. Check thickness with a micrometer at every pad change and replace rotors at the minimum thickness stamped on the rotor. A rotor that pulses under braking is usually warped or has uneven pad deposits; new pads and proper bedding often fix deposits, but a warped rotor must be replaced.

Signs It's Time to Replace

  • Pulsing lever or pedal
  • Rotor below minimum thickness
  • Deep grooves or cracks
  • Blue heat marks
